It all began with an idea. What if smashing things up could be therapy and recycling?

From there, an idea was born. Rage Rooms have existed overseas for a while but nothing had ever opened here in Christchurch. Could we be the first?

Over our Sunday Family Dinners and a whole lot of banter, the ideas grew and became the Rage Cage.

Our key values are that of Sustainability - we value being able to recycle the waste and do it in a socially responsible way through our partnerships with other businesses and groups.

Community - Smashing stuff up as therapy isnt always a lone wolf experience. Getting ya mates together and letting rip on some old whiteware can be a bonding experience.

Inclusivity - Everyone is welcome at Rage Cage. Smashing stuff and recycling isnt an thing only for the able. Our premises is wheelchair accessible, we have tools for all abilities and we are a safe place for anyone to release their pent up emotion.

Fun - there is nothing more entertaining than whacking a bit of whiteware and seeing how much damage you can do! Its even better with friends!

Wellbeing - We aim to provide a safe place to smash stuff up and while we are not licenced therapists, we provide information and links to mental health providers for all participants. Our space is a safe one for people to explore their limits - both physical and emotional.
